Weekend Workshops
Weekend courses use a mixture of ensemble and piano accompaniment. A volunteer orchestra is organised for the Sunday afternoon workshop.
The next Weekend Workshop will take place on
1st-2nd November 2008.
(Please note that this date is revised from 25th-26th October.) Details will be available soon.
Repertoire
The repertoire for the November course will be:
Mozart - Symphony No 40Brahms - Variations on a Theme of HaydnDebussy - L'apres-midi d'un fauneThe repertoire is chosen to allow students with a range of ability and experience to choose the most appropriate pieces to study. You are not required to conduct all the pieces, but you will benefit more from the course if you acquire study scores for them all. For beginners or relatively inexperienced students, we recommend that you choose two or three sections or movements and learn them thoroughly in advance of the course.

Piano, Ensemble and Orchestra
We provide a pianist throughout the course. We ask all students to bring orchestral instruments with them to create a small ensemble to support the training during Saturday and Sunday morning. On Sunday afternoon, we aim to provide extra volunteer players to fill out the ensemble to give experience of conducting a more complete group.
